As previously mentioned, this is a good time to take a little break from the story and do some sidequests. First on the list is the Hercules Cup which has opened in the Coliseum. Winning here gives you the Yellow Trinity which enables you to move that massive block in the Vestibule and reveal the keyhole for the world.
Also on the list are all the treasures you had to leave behind. You should be able to get them now that you can glide. Finally, there's Merlin's book in the Magician's Study. Assuming that you've been treasure hunting consistently while moving between worlds, you should have all 5 Torn Pages on hand at this point. The 5th one is a gift from Pongo and Perdita for rescuing 51 Dalmatian puppies.

Boss Encounter timestamps for the video below

- 1:26:22: Riku (Second Round)
- 1:57:41: Behemoth
Welcome to the beautifully ominous castle of Hollow Bastion. This is one of the most iconic locations in the entire series of Kingdom Hearts and is one of the non-Disney location. First thing to do is scoop up all the treasure here in the opening way. There are no heartless and some really good treasure including a set of dalmatians so make sure you nab those.
When you reach the top of the shifting platforms a cutscene will occur, after which you will have the Beast but no Keyblade. When you enter the Castle gates section immediately take a right. You'll notice the gate is shut, but with your new found Glide ability, sail your way around the gate and take the lift down, also make sure you activate the orange lift control as well. Run across the room, because you can't do damage to Heartless and take the bubble on the right for a save point and treasure. Then use the Call command on the wall for Beast to smash it. Take the bubble through and knock the wall down to enter the dungeon. Inside is some good treasure and Blue Trinity which is useless to you now, so use magic and Beast to grab the treasure if you want then continue down the hall of the Waterway.
This part has some switches to figure out how to make yourself a path. It's not too difficult so I'll leave out the details. You just push the next switch every time you reveal one. Take the bubble. Release the switch and continue. When you reach the last switch there will be a Heartless, so cast magic and help beast kill it then release the Switch. Now you can head back to the Castle Gates. Head to the Gate even though it's closed. It will open for you when you try to walk through it and prepare for a Boss Fight.
BOSS: Riku
advertisement
hp: 500 exp: 2000
You will receive the Keyblade and Donald and Goofy back, and it's time to finally time to beat the crap out of Riku. This fight is pretty generic honestly. Riku is fast and fast at attacking, but all his attacks can be parried. This is a very important strategy for Riku because it helps and gets you those precious Tech Points. If you're on level you shouldn't have any issues at all, he will go down quick. Don't be afraid to use your sword techniques either like Ars Arcanum.
Your victory will reward you the long awaitedWhite Trinity.
Now you want to head into the Library. Inside you will find Bookshelves with book collections having volumes missing. You will also find these books strewn throughout the Library or on the wrong shelf. Grab them and replace them to unlock treasure and the way forward through Hollow Bastion. You will also find pillars with movable shelves and treasures inside. Different ones require a different number of turns, so just keep spinning until you get the treasure. Once you've unlocked the door from pushing the Red Button, head inside. You'll be back in the entry way where you fought Riku and you need to find the emblem pieces to put on the heartless door to continue through. First start lighting all the candles around. Then smash the two pots next that are adjacent to the statue. Next use Red Trinity to push the statue off the top, and finally push the statue to the left to reveal the last one. Before jumping down cast thunder on the stone tablet. Once you get all four, just go and put them into the door to continue onward to the Lift Stop.
Head out to the Castle Gates and fight the Heartless. Switch the Orange Lift and then call the blue one down to take up to the top level. Use the Lift to get on the large platform and prepare to fight. Head into the lift stop and go up and enter the Great Crest, fight through the Heartless and flip the orange lift. then enter the Lift Stop again to get to the High Tower. Again fight through the Heartless and flip the orange lift. Now go around the corner and enter the Lift Stop again. Now ener the Castle Chapel and prepare for a boss fight.
BOSS: Maleficent
hp: 900 exp: 3400
There are essentially two components to this fight. Firstly there is Maleficent herself and secondly there is her platform of magic that she walks on. The platform is really your first priority. Beat it down fast and as hard as you can, this will cause her to drop and then she is vulnerable. It will also stop her from being able to hit you with her most damaging spells. After taking enough damage she will turn into an orb of light and resummon her platform so it starts over again. She also summons Defender type Heartless to help her, that will give you lots of MP and HP back if you need it. This fight can be a little tricky, so if she's hitting you with lots of Magic make sure you're using Aero/Aerora and just keep at it.

Now save your game and head through the portal to fight another Boss.
BOSS: Maleficent Dragon
hp: 1200 Exp: 6000
Just a forewarning, a lot of people consider this to be one of the hardest fights in the game. She is tough. She has lots of Health, and the ability to essentially be attacking constantly with her stomps, fire, and tail whipping. Aero is essential and Tinkerbell helps out a ton as well as you will be healed. You also are going to need Donald for sure, even though the won't live very long, he will be helpful in healing when he is alive. Try and get on Dragons back and avoid attacking her while she is breathing fire or preparing the fire. Strike Raid while riding on her back can do a lot of damage, though be careful not to waste Magic since you're going to want Aero and Cure consistently.
Head back and go on to the new Lift Stop opening and on to the Grand Hall. And once again prepare for a Boss Fight, and tough one at that.
BOSS: Riku II
hp: 900 exp: 8500
This again is a pretty hard fight, but if you're an experienced player it can be one of the most fun because you get to use some serious sword skills. Riku is even faster now that Ansem is possessing him and will do more damage as well thanks to the Dark Keyblade. He also has an arsenal of dark powers to avoid and watch out for. Deflection is a big part of this fight. Constantly Riku will jump to a side and that means that a sword strike is coming so instead of striking wait and then deflect. When he holds his sword out in front like he's blocking only attack if you have counterattack otherwise he will pound you. When he fires those dark discus' at you make sure to deflect as this will stun him and give you Tech Points. Avoid his rising beams at all costs and when he goes into his Cloud Strife/Sephiroth dash attack jump high and glide around the outside to avoid getting hit. The lower his health the worse it's gonna get so just keep going and don't give up he's supposed to be hard.

Now you're a heartless so just head for the entrance to the Castle.
You'll soon find yourself in Traverse Town. All you have to do is talk to Cid and do his quest and you can return to Hollow Bastion. Head for the Library to get Belle and receive Divine Rose, which is one of the best keychains in the game. In the Final Mix they powered it up even more and it's super over powered so you're probably gonna want to use it. Continue into the great hall and the Dark Depths to fight a Boss.
BOSS: Behemoth
hp: 1350 eXp: 16000
Behemoth is very easy don't be intimidated by his size. Jump on his back and bash his horn. After you've hit him enough he will be knocked out and lower his head so get off and bash him. He will rear to caste a basically undodgeable lightning attack so cast Aero before he rears. Thats basically all he can do besides step on you so just keep hitting him till he goes down.
Now head to the Library and talk to Aerith 3 times to get Curaga and then you can head to the Final World or go sidequesting.
Up Next: End of the World
